My Journey

Education

January 2024 - Present

Ph.D. (Chronophysics & Chronobiology)

University of Sydney

I am currently pursuing my PhD in the field of chronophysics & chronobiology from the University of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, where my research focuses on understanding the factors affecting sleep disruption and the relation between sleep disruption and neurodegeneration.

July 2018 - June 2020

Master of Technology (Biotechnology)

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology

I completed my Master of Technology in Biotechnology from NIT Bhopal, India. While pursuing my Master's, I started the lab of Bio-nanotechnology at NIT Bhopal and conducted the study to examine the antibacterial activity of Iron nanoparticles against Staphylococcus aureus. Eventually, I did my dissertation in the field of Computational Neuroscience from IISER Pune, India.

August 2014 - May 2018

Bachelor of Technology (Biotechnology)

Dr. D.Y. Patil Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Institute

I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Dr. D.Y. Patil Biotechnology & Bioinformatics Institute, India. While pursuing my Bachelor's, I did my dissertation in the field of Bio-nanotechnology where I explored the antibacterial properties of Biologically synthesised silver nanoparticles against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and focussed on targeting the Type 3 Secretion System of the bacteria.

Experience

January 2021 - December 2023

Har Govind Khorana Junior Research Fellow

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata

I worked as a prestigious Har Govind Khorana Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata, India in Dr. Susmita Roy's lab. I mainly worked at the interface of Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Viral Evolution and Mutation, and Protein Biophysics.

November 2020 - December 2020

Junior Research Fellow

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal

I worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal, India in Dr. Jeet Kalia's lab. My work focussed on the synthesis of Double Knot Toxins (DkTx) and its different variants and examine the role of these toxins in ion channel activation, specifically focussing on TRPV1 ion channel in the oocyte of Xenopus laevis.

May 2019 - June 2020

Master Dissertation Student

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune

I worked as a Master's dissertation student in Dr. Suhita Nadkarni's lab at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune, India where my dissertation focussed on understanding the effect of stochasticity on neuronal signalling in healthy and diseased conditions of Alzheimer's.
